The tram 28 is a real ex-libris of Lisbon! From the windows of this picturesque public transport you can enjoy all the historical and natural heritage that Lisbon has to offer! However, there are queues at all times, and it’s quite challenging to sit down and enjoy the view over the city! By choosing Eco Tuk Tours, we assure you’ll be able to go on the same route as the tram goes, but comfortably, while listening to historical explanations provided by our team of Storytellers.
You can visit the vibrant and bright Graça neighbourhood, located on the highest hill of Lisbon. The next stop will be a detours from the route of the Electrico 28 such as the Viewpoint of Senhora do Monte, where you can take photographs over the most beautiful view of the city!
On the way down you are going to be able to see the old and narrow streets of Alfama neighbourhood. We are going to stop at Largo das Portas do Sol, where you can see another beautiful view over Alfama quarter. On the way down, there’s the monumental Cathedral of Lisbon, dating from the 12th century, and built on the ancient mosque. Afterwards, it’s time to visit Baixa neighbourhood, a result of the reconstruction of the city after the earthquake of 1755. Heading up, towards Chiado, one of the most cosmopolitan and historical districts of the city, between Bairro Alto and Baixa. Here you'll find the most diverse designer shops, art galleries, restaurants, cafes, bookstores and theatres (Opera of S. Carlos and S. Luiz).
We'll carry on to Calçada do Combro, which brings us to the Assembly of the Republic, one of the most important organs of national sovereignty. Our last stop is in Estrela, which offers us a relaxing stroll through its magnificent garden, or you can also visit the magnificent Basilica of Estrela, one of the brightest Baroque achievements in Portugal.
